THE STORY

The Concert is a painting by Johannes Vermeer, completed around 1664, depicting three musicians in an indoor setting, in somewhat darkness , and yet its luminosity and musical intonation can be felt with an ease only great masters can create.

It was stolen from a Boston museum in 1990 and it remains missing with an empty frame hanging in its place. 

When something precious is taken, or stolen, the emptiness that is left behind is all that remains; all is left is a quiet, silent, isolating experience of grief, a deep and profound spirituality that holds no purpose, only a hollow ache awaiting to be restored.
